Billing

Fines, tolls and recoveries

Record charges against the right rental, bill the customer and understand pass-through accounting.

Recording

  1. Open Fleet › Fines or Fleet › Tolls.
  2. Type the charge or use the import workflow set up for your installation.
  3. Link the vehicle and, where possible, the agreement and customer who had the car at the charge time.
  4. Attach the notice or screenshot through Documents, with the category Fine / toll notice or Screenshot.

Automatic retrieval from RTA TARS or Darb is available only once official access has been issued to your business and configured. See Setting up integrations.

Billing the customer

Unbilled fines and tolls are added to the customer’s invoice as lines.

Pass-through accounting (off until switched on)

When the company only collects a fine or toll on behalf of the authority, that money is not the company’s income. Once a Super Admin sets the start date and which charges are covered, recoveries post to a clearing account instead of revenue, and paying the authority clears it. Your admin fee remains revenue.

Documents dated before the start date keep their original posting. Before switching on, agree with your accountant which charges are genuinely pass-through, and ask your tax adviser to confirm the VAT treatment of Salik recharges.
